Job summary

Casa de Amparo is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to provide recovery-oriented services to adults in a structured IOP/PHP setting. The role emphasizes using lived experience to engage clients, support goal setting, and connect individuals with community resources.

Responsibilities include collaboration with clinical staff, documentation, and crisis-safety considerations. Spanish bilingual ability is preferred, and certification or active progression toward certification is required

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist or be working toward peer certification, with certification obtained within ninety days of hire.
• Must self-identify as having behavioral health lived experience and use it professionally to support recovery.
• Experience with adults with behavioral health needs, homelessness, or transitions from higher levels of care preferred.
• English proficiency; bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support and recovery-oriented services using lived experience and approved guidelines.
• Support client engagement, retention, participation, and connection to the therapeutic milieu.
• Help clients identify strengths, recovery goals, wellness strategies, and coping skills.
• Complete documentation and data logs per program and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with clinicians and other team members for care planning and warm handoffs.
