Job summary

ReDiscover, a long-standing nonprofit community mental health center in Missouri, seeks a Peer Support Specialist to join its Peer Services program. You will draw on lived experience to support clients and help connect them to recovery resources.

This full-time role requires Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm, with the potential to facilitate groups, support treatment planning, and assist with logistics while maintaining confidentiality and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willing to work Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm.
• Must have life experiences with substance use or mental illness and have received services.
• Must complete Peer Specialist training through Missouri Credentialing Board and pass certification.
• Excellent customer service and strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and GSuite.

Responsibilities

• Share lived experience to support recovery.
• Link clients with groups and community resources.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans.
• May facilitate mutual support and education groups.
• May assist with client transportation.
• Safeguard client information and maintain confidentiality.
