Job summary

Aspire Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities seeks a Forensic Peer Specialist to provide recovery-oriented peer support to individuals in the Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) program. This role centers on using lived experience to build authentic relationships, promote hope, and support recovery within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must meet requirements for peer support certification and maintain certification.
• Forensic peer support training or demonstrated experience preferred.
• Knowledge of recovery principles, trauma-informed approaches, and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery-oriented peer support to individuals in Aspire BHDD's Assisted Outpatient Treatment Program.
• Use lived experience to build authentic peer relationships and promote recovery.
• Engage participants who may be reluctant or distrustful to build connections.
• Help participants navigate behavioral health and court-related systems from a peer perspective.
• Develop Wellness Recovery Action Plans and recovery tools as appropriate.
• Maintain boundaries between peer support and clinical or legal roles.
• Document interactions and advocate for participant recovery voice.
