Job summary

Arundel Lodge, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Rehabilitation Professional to provide direct support and rehabilitation services to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.

The role focuses on helping members develop life skills, increase independence, and participate in their communities, with duties ranging from transportation and budgeting to daily living activities and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in a human services field preferred.
• At least 1 year of mental health/behavioral health/psychosocial rehab experience preferred or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
• Must successfully complete a drug screening.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work compassionately with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation to appointments, community activities, shopping, and other destinations.
• Assist with budgeting, money management, and developing financial independence.
• Help schedule, organize, and attend medical appointments and other engagements.
• Provide guidance on healthy eating habits, meal planning, and nutrition.
• Assist with grocery shopping, errands, and daily living activities.
• Support activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, and maintaining a clean living environment.
• Teach and reinforce independent living skills, including household management, personal organization, problem-solving, and daily routines.
• Encourage community participation, self-sufficiency, and development of positive life skills.
• Establish respectful, supportive relationships while promoting dignity, choice, and independence.
• Support individualized rehabilitation and recovery goals through encouragement, coaching, and skill development.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and communicate progress updates.
