Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking a Community Support Specialist in St. Charles, MO to help adults in recovery build healthier, more independent lives. You’ll mentor, advocate, and coach individuals, guiding access to resources, coping skills, and daily living supports.

You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams, document progress, and support ongoing treatment goals. A recovery-oriented, person-centered approach is essential, along with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education, Criminal Justice, Family Studies, Counseling, Recreational Therapy, Human Services, Human Development, Child Development, Gerontology, Behavioral Science, Rehabilitation Counseling or equivalent.
• Four years of qualifying experience minimum or a combination of education and experience equaling four years required.
• Related fields may include direct support such as case management, residential support, developmentally disabled support, vocational rehabilitation, and more.

Responsibilities

• Deliver recovery-focused support services to help individuals achieve treatment goals.
• Build trusting relationships to encourage engagement and independence.
• Assist clients in developing healthy coping strategies and independent living skills.
• Collaborate with treatment teams to identify client needs and support coordinated care.
• Conduct outreach and follow-up to promote ongoing participation in services.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services and client progress.
