Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proof of Certified Peer Counselor Certification required.
• Be 18 years or older.
• Be in mental health or substance use recovery for at least one year.
• Demonstrate leadership qualities.
• Be willing to share your recovery story.
• Must obtain Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within 60 days.
• Valid food handlers card within one week of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide client advocacy under supervision of a mental health professional.
• Assist clients to obtain community services (healthcare, housing, social services, employment).
• Support recovery activities and provide hope and encouragement.
• Assist with intakes and discharges where applicable.
• Maintain quality of care per WA regulations and DOH standards.
• Engage in teamwork, supervision, and training per annual plan.
