Job summary

Pioneer Human Services is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to advocate for clients, use lived experience to inspire recovery, and support access to community services within behavioral health programs.

You will work under supervision of a mental health professional, help with admissions and discharges, and support staff while upholding safety and recovery-focused care. This role emphasizes personal resilience and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certified Peer Counselor Certification.
• Self-identify as someone with lived experience with mental health or SUD services or be a parent/guardian of such a child.
• Be 18 or older and in recovery for at least one year.
• Willing to share your personal story of recovery.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for clients and connect them to healthcare, social services, housing, and employment.
• Support clients' recovery activities and life goals.
• Assist with intakes and discharges as applicable to the program.
• Provide food service duties and supervise dining areas where required.
• Maintain boundaries and report incidents to supervisor.
