Job summary

Coastal Horizons is hiring a Certified Peer Support Specialist - Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) in Wilmington, NC. The role is on-site, full-time, Monday–Friday, with responsibilities centered on recovery-oriented peer support and psychosocial rehabilitation services.

The candidate must be a NC Certified Peer Support Specialist with lived experience in recovery from mental health or substance use disorders, and knowledge of PSR within Medicaid-billed settings.

Qualifications

• CPSS certification (NC) required.
• Personal recovery experience with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
• Knowledge of PSR in Medicaid-billed settings is important.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized peer support to participants, fostering hope and recovery.
• Lead peer support groups, wellness activities, and skills training focused on recovery.
• Advocate for participants to access needed services.
• Assist with recovery coaching and goal attainment (employment, housing, education).
• Collaborate with clinicians and staff to develop person-centered plans.
• Maintain timely, Medicaid-compliant documentation of services.
• Provide crisis support and refer to appropriate crisis resources when needed.
• Foster community integration and connections with recovery networks.
