Job summary

Acadia Healthcare's Jackson Comprehensive Treatment Center in Jackson, MS seeks a Peer Support Specialist/Recovery Coach to assist patients with recovery from Opioid Use Disorder. This is a full-time role with an early morning schedule, Monday through Friday.

You will provide peer support, help navigate treatment and social services, and work with a multidisciplinary team to promote lasting recovery. Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED, with a Mississippi Peer Support Certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• No previous work experience in the field is required, although highly preferred.
• Prefer direct experience in substance use disorder (SUD) through personal life experiences, internships, or related education.

Responsibilities

• Provides peer support to patients in recovery, leveraging lived experience to encourage participation in care.
• Engages patients at first contact to facilitate screening for appropriate level of care.
• Acts as advocate and mentor to promote empowerment and engagement in recovery.
• Shares coping techniques and self-help strategies to support growth and relapse prevention.
