Job summary

Comprehensive Treatment Centers in Jackson, MS is seeking a Peer Support Specialist/Recovery Coach for our Outpatient MAT OTP program. The role focuses on supporting individuals in recovery from opioid use disorder and guiding them through the continuum of care.

Ideal candidates have lived or professional experience in recovery, knowledge of MAT options, and strong documentation skills to maintain progress notes and recovery plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Direct experience with substance use disorders is highly valued.
• Familiarity with MAT approaches and related terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provides peer support to clinically complex patients, guiding recovery.
• Engages patients at initial contact to expedite screening for level of care.
• Advocates and mentors patients to promote empowerment and engagement.
• Models coping techniques and healthy lifestyle choices for stress management.
• Provides MAT-related knowledge on methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone.
• Coordinates with community resources to meet housing and care needs.
• Documents services clearly and in accordance with guidelines.
