MHMR of Tarrant County is seeking a Recovery Support Peer Specialist to provide recovery-focused services within MHMR programs in both group and individual settings.

The role draws on personal recovery experience to teach coping strategies, support wellness, and advocate for clients. You will help design educational and support groups and assist clients in accessing community resources and natural supports.

Formación

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED.
• Preferences: Completed peer specialist orientation and self-assessment, completed Peer Specialist Core Training, and passed the knowledge assessment
• Years’ Experience: One (1) year
• Defined Experience: At least one year as a recipient of community mental health services for Texas target population, plus life experience in recovery
• License/Certifications: Within one year obtain Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS) certification and maintain biannually by CEUs; Valid Texas Driver’s License
• Special Courses: Complete Peer Specialist Core Training and RSPS training within 6 months of hire

Responsabilidades

• Provide recovery-focused services to individuals in MHMR programs, in group and individual settings.
• Teach the value of recovery and model coping techniques and self-help strategies from personal recovery experience.
• Foster positive relationships with support resources and community services.
• Develop and implement educational, support, and affiliation groups tailored to individual needs.
• Assist clients in utilizing community resources and natural supports.
