Job summary

MHMR of Tarrant County is seeking a Mental Health Peer Specialist to provide recovery-focused services within our programs. You will mentor clients, advocate for their needs, and help them build coping skills and connections to resources.

The role emphasizes using your own recovery experience to inspire others. You will develop and deliver educational, support, and affiliation groups tailored to individual needs, and assist clients in navigating community resources.

Qualifications

• Must have at least one year of lived experience in active recovery.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Within one year of hire obtain MHPS certification and maintain CEUs.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery-focused services to individuals in MHMR programs.
• Offer mentoring and advocacy in group and individual settings.
• Develop and implement educational and support groups tailored to individual needs.
• Assist clients in efficiently utilizing community resources and natural supports.
