Job summary

Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (SCADD) in New London, CT seeks a Recovery Coach II to provide one-on-one client support and coordinate wrap-around services to aid recovery journeys. This is a full-time professional role in a respected non-profit with a strong community focus.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, engaging clients with empathy, helping them access resources, and supporting relapse prevention and independent living skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; people with lived experience in recovery are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Peer Certification obtained through a state-approved certification board required.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and unrestricted privileges required.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, external providers, clients, families, and community partners.
• Strong interpersonal skills with empathetic, nonjudgmental engagement.

Responsibilities

• Walk alongside clients in their recovery journey, providing referral and coordination of wrap-around services.
• Assist clients with filing complaints and follow-up resolutions when needed.
• Help clients avoid behaviors that could lead to a psychiatric crisis.
• Assist with transportation and provide direct transportation when needed.
• Participate in orientation of new employees and knowledge transfer.
• Deliver weekly programming and support ongoing recovery efforts.
