Job summary

WestCare Foundation is seeking a dedicated peer recovery specialist to lead outreach efforts, provide advocacy, and coach individuals seeking recovery within the community.

You will work with clients and families to connect them with relevant resources, promote wellness and resiliency, and help establish support systems. The role emphasizes crisis intervention, client education, and collaboration with clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills are required and must work well in a team.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in crisis situations.
• Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer leadership, outreach, advocacy, coaching, and recovery support.
• Educate and refer clients to community resources for basic needs like food, housing, clothing, and transport.
• Provide warm hand-offs to community resources and supports.
