Job summary

Sprout Organization runs Recuperative Care for people discharged from hospital who need a safe place to recover. The program provides shelter, meals, and around-the-clock support to help residents regain footing.

As a Recuperative Care Specialist you’ll monitor residents, document observations, coordinate follow-ups, and connect members with housing and care resources while maintaining a calm, supportive presence.

Qualifications

• Non-clinical, community-support role; no nursing duties.
• High school diploma or GED; background check and health screening.
• CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to get certified.

Responsibilities

• Check in on every member during your shift and notice changes in condition or mood.
• Walk the house on hourly rounds to keep the environment safe and calm.
• Help meals run smoothly and ensure everyone is fed and the meals stay orderly.
• Coordinate rides to doctor appointments and help members follow up care.
• Welcome new members and explain how the house works; support transitions.
• Write clear notes on observations and hand off important information to the next shift.
• De-escalate conflict calmly and know when to call 911, supervisor, or on-call nurse.
• Connect members to housing help and community resources with care-team support.
