Job summary

RHA Health Services in Roxboro, NC is hiring a Certified Peer Support Specialist (Regular). The role supports individuals with mental health and substance use challenges, promoting recovery and community integration through strength-based interventions.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and advocate for client preferences in treatment and self-help activities. Qualifications include a Peer Support certification and Qualified Mental Health Professional Status, High School Diploma

Qualifications

• Requires Qualified Mental Health Professional Status and Peer Support certification or certificate of Peer Support supervision.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience working with the population served.
• Certified as a Peer Support Specialist or eligible for certification.
• Complete a minimum of twenty (20) hours of training within the first 90 days.
• Valid driver's license and automotive insurance.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
• CPR, first aid, and related certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential expertise and consultation to the interdisciplinary health care team to promote recovery and empowerment.
• Meet with clients to offer advice and support per a treatment plan.
• Assist in peer support groups with assigned consumers regularly.
• Support consumers in daily decision making and resolving minor problems.
• Help clients access resources and encourage follow-through with resolutions.
• Accompany clients to meetings and advocate for consumer needs in community groups.
• Foster clients' development of healthy relationships and community participation.
• Model coping and self-help techniques for individuals or groups.
• Inform clients about community resources and how to use them.
