Job summary

Mountainside Treatment Center in New York, NY seeks a Recovery Engagement Specialist to provide compassionate support to clients and families, focusing on advocacy, care coordination, and peer-based guidance during recovery.

You will facilitate case management during Detox and Residential stays, assist with referrals, support transitions back to work or school, and help clients locate recovery resources, while documenting accurately in Aura and Salesforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience and/or knowledge in substance use treatment.
• CARC Certification preferred.
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support, education, and advocacy to clients and families.
• Serve in a peer support role, offering lived-experience guidance.
• Facilitate case management during Detox and Residential stays.
• Assist with referrals to appropriate levels of care and support transitions.
• Facilitate crisis interventions when clinically appropriate.
• Support transitions back to work, home, or school with continuing care.
• Assist clients in locating recovery-based resources and community services.
• Collaborate with families and recommend family treatment resources.
• Coordinate with collateral supports to address each client’s needs.
• Communicate updates to the treatment team and document accurately.
• Counsel and educate family members on how to support their loved one.
• Provide client transportation when appropriate.
• Monitor progress and adjust support services as needed.
• Maintain documentation in Aura and Salesforce.
