Job summary

The City of Fairfield Police Department seeks an experienced Records Support Supervisor to lead the Records Unit, maintain the integrity, accuracy, and security of critical public safety records. Oversee modern records management operations, guide staff, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

  • Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade; specialized training desirable.
  • Four years of journey-level experience maintaining public safety records; supervisory experience desirable.
  • California Class C driver’s license required; POST Basic Records Certificate required; POST Records Supervisor Certificate desirable at hire; POST Records Supervisor course and Public Records Act course required within 18 months of hire.

  • Perform records management duties related to assigned responsibilities.

Job description

Education: Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Specialized training or college-level coursework in criminal justice, law enforcement, public or business administration, or a related field is desirable. Experience: Four (4) years of increasingly responsible journey-level experience in maintaining public safety records. Some supervisory or lead experience is highly desirable. License and Certificates: Possession of and the ability to maintain a valid California Class C driver’s license is required. Possession of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Basic Records Certificate is required. Possession of a Records Supervisor Certificate issued by the California Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) is highly desirable at the time of hire. Completion of the POST Records Supervisor course and Public Records Act course is required within 18 months of the date of hire.

$99,082.88 - $120,434.70 Annually
