Job summary

Genesis is seeking a Record Management Manager to oversee the storage and security of patient records at a nursing center. You will ensure accurate coding for billing, create admissions records, and conduct audits to maintain compliance with federal and state rules.

The role requires a 3+ year background in records management and ICD coding knowledge, with a high school diploma as a baseline and a degree preferred when possible. This is an on-site position in Alabama.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required; college degree strongly preferred or commensurate experience.
• Certification in ICD coding or working knowledge of ICD coding is required.
• At least 3 years of experience with records management is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance, security, and storage of written and electronic records.
• Ensure accurate and current diagnostic coding for billing of patient care.
• Create medical records for all new patient admissions.
• Perform routine audits of medical records for compliance with policies.
• Maintain the electronic diagnosis list.
