Job summary

New Brighton Ford in New Brighton, MN is seeking a reconditioning/used car technician with broad brand experience encouraged. This role offers paid training and a competitive hourly wage.

You will diagnose, repair, and service a range of vehicle systems, test-drive vehicles, and collaborate with the Service team to complete repairs efficiently. Qualified applicants will have automotive technician experience, be comfortable with diagnostic tools, and hold a valid driver's license with a clean

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs per repair order with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose components using diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, brakes, A/C.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional needed work and time estimates.
• Execute warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.

Reconditioning/Used Car Technician Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that the team is informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an automotive technician required.
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Basic computer competencies
• Positive and friendly attitude.
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Willing to submit to pre-employment drug screen and background check
