Job summary

Lakeland Automall in Lakeland, FL seeks a Used Car Reconditioning Technician to repair and prep vehicles per dealer and factory standards. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, coordinate with parts, and ensure vehicles are returned clean and safe.

Prior three years experience preferred; ASE certification preferred; high school diploma required. This role is on-site with competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose cause of malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by customer
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts, inform team leader if vehicle is awaiting parts and pursue special order of parts if necessary
  • Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by customer
  • Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
  • Notify service consultants immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
  • Road-test vehicles to check work performed
  • Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order using the concern, cause and correction format
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced
  • Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
  • Attend factory sponsored training classes
  • Keep shop area neat and account for all dealership owned tools
  • Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations (hazardous waste disposal)
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with company’s vision, mission and values
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standards
  • Follow company safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes, dirt and chemicals

Job Summary:

The Used Car Reconditioning Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by customer

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to inclement weather
  • Ability to operate an automobile
  • Prolonged periods of standing, stooping and bending
  • Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater then 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and or pulling of arm or leg controls, or requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and /or pulling of materials
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have technical aptitude displayed by ASE certification or successful completion of pre-employment test
  • Technical or trade school degree preferred
