Job summary

Cox Automotive in Belcamp, MD seeks an Estimator I to generate accurate reconditioning estimates for auction customers using defined formats and pricing.

Responsibilities include using estimating tools, documenting damages, and coordinating with vendors while maintaining safety standards. A valid driver's license is required to operate vehicles during the estimation process.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of auto experience; provide accurate reconditioning estimates for mechanical and body services.
  • Estimates will include, but not be limited to, commercial, dealer, rental, and retail customers.
  • Work with multiple vendors to locate parts based on pricing and timeframes.
  • Work with Procurement/Purchasing staff to ensure accurate pricing of parts and supplies required for estimates.
  • Monitor repair status, completion timelines, and customer communications related to approved reconditioning estimates.
  • Follow safety procedures and participate in Safety Excellence.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, clients and team members.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Company Cox Automotive - USA Job Family Group Vehicle Operations Job Profile Estimator I Management Level Individual Contributor Flexible Work Option No remote option; must work at a specified Cox location Travel % No Work Shift Day Compensation Hourly base pay rate is $18.22 - $27.36/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Description

This position generates accurate and timely estimates for reconditioning services offered to all internal and external auction customers. These estimates are to be generated using formats and pricing defined by management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with multiple vendors to locate the parts that best fit our clients' needs based on pricing and time frames.
  • Work with Procurement/Purchasing staff to ensure accurate pricing of parts and supplies required for estimates.
  • Monitor repair status, completion timelines, and customer communications related to approved reconditioning estimates as directed by management.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
  • Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, clients, and team members.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g. tools, equipment).
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular exposure to weather conditions, fumes, and noise.

To be employed in this role, you’ll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position.
