Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services seeks a detail-oriented Reconciliation Analyst to own end-to-end reconciliation processes, from data gathering to final closing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This role requires strong accounting knowledge and advanced Excel to analyze large datasets and resolve discrepancies.

The ideal candidate will build and improve reconciliations, establish controls, and collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and Operations to drive process improvements and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in reconciliations, accounting, financial analysis, or related field.
• Proven experience creating and developing a reconciliation from start to finish is required.
• Advanced Excel and experience working with large datasets are essential.

Responsibilities

• Own the reconciliation process from beginning to end, including data gathering, methodology development, analysis, discrepancies, and final reconciliation.
• Create reconciliations from scratch with required data, schedules, and controls.
• Research and resolve variances, discrepancies, and outstanding items.
• Analyze large financial data sets to identify trends, errors, or inconsistencies.
• Prepare detailed reconciliation documentation and supporting schedules.
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and other teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely, accurate reconciliations.
• Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes, controls, and reporting.
• Assist with month-end close and other accounting/financial analysis as needed.

Reconciliation Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented Reconciliation Analyst with strong analytical and accounting skills to take ownership of reconciliation processes from start to finish. The ideal candidate has experience not only performing reconciliations, but also building and developing a reconciliation process from the ground up, identifying discrepancies, establishing controls, and ensuring accurate and timely resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the reconciliation process from beginning to end, including gathering data, developing methodology, performing analysis, identifying discrepancies, and completing final reconciliation
• Create and build reconciliations from scratch, including determining required data, developing supporting schedules, and establishing processes and controls
• Research and resolve variances, discrepancies, and outstanding items
• Analyze large amounts of financial data and identify trends, errors, or inconsistencies
• Prepare detailed reconciliation documentation and supporting schedules
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and other internal teams to research and resolve issues
• Maintain accurate records and ensure reconciliations are completed timely and accurately
• Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes, controls, and reporting
• Assist with month-end close and other accounting/financial analysis as needed
