Job summary

The Citi Reconciliation & Proofing Junior Analyst – APAC Shift is a trainee professional role designed to build foundational skills in GL reconciliation, balance sheet substantiation, and process improvement. You will work under guidance, applying accounting principles to routine tasks while developing your ability to analyze and resolve issues.

Location: City of Taguig, Philippines; this hybrid role offers exposure to global Citi teams and opportunities to grow within Operations - Transaction

Qualifications

• CPA or commensurate local accreditation
• Experience in accounting (finance sector a plus)
• Knowledge of US GAAP and other bases of accounting

Responsibilities

• Daily reconciliation of general ledger balances to the sub-ledger
• Preparation of reconciliation package
• Identify and clear accounting exceptions and mismatched items
• Analyze recurring issues and assist in developing process improvements
• Monitoring status of aged breaks on balance sheet accounts
• Exercise sound judgement regarding the proper application of accounting principles to reconciliations
• Communicate with team members, management and business partners
• Respond to Balance Sheet Substantiation team requests for information
• Ensure financial reporting deadlines are met
• Participate in and/or lead projects as assigned
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for Citi's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Job Overview

The Rec & Proofing Analyst 1 is a trainee professional role. Requires a good knowledge of the range of processes, procedures and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts and principles upon which the job is based. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Makes evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information. They are expected to resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents. Must be able to exchange information in a concise and logical way as well as be sensitive to audience diversity. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own job.

Qualifications:

• CPA or commensurate local accreditation
• Experience in accounting (experience in the financial services sector a plus)
• Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting
• CPA or commensurate local accreditation

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
