Job summary

A leading healthcare organization seeks a part-time Administrative Assistant to support administrative functions in a senior community. The role involves maintaining the switchboard and assisting management while providing excellent customer service. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and experience in a similar role, particularly in long-term care settings.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a receptionist or in a secretarial position preferred.
  • Ability to utilize standard office equipment.
  • Experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.

  • Assist the Administrator/Executive Director in meeting administrative needs.
  • Work every other weekend, Saturday/Sunday 9AM-5PM.

Description

The primary purpose of your position is to perform administrative detail including maintaining the switchboard, and follow-up functions to assist the Administrator/Executive Director/Designee in meeting the administrative needs of the community.

Minimum Qualifications

WORKING EVERY OTHER WEEKEND - SATURDAY/SUNDAY 9AM-5PM

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a receptionist or in a secretarial position preferred.
  • Ability to utilize and maintain standard office equipment, e.g., copier, printer, fax shredder, phone system, personnel computer, etc.
  • Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.
  • Must possess superior customer service skills and professionalism.
  • Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to ongoing change and work in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
  • Possesses interpersonal and relationship building skills to work in a cross-functional team as well as the ability to work with residents based on their cognitive ability.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated with a high productivity level.
  • Possesses a high degree of personal accountability, responsibility and strong decision-making abilities.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the organization.
