Job summary

Hampton Behavioral Health Center is seeking a FULL TIME RECEPTIONIST/SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR. Hours are Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. You will answer all incoming calls, route them, greet visitors professionally, take messages, and handle all interactions professionally by phone or in person.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED certification required.
• Excellent customer service and phone skills.
• Previous experience working in a medical office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming telephone calls and interdepartmental calls and route them to the appropriate department or person.
• Greet all visitors to the facility in a professional and pleasant manner.
• Take messages when appropriate and conduct all interactions professionally, by phone or in person.
• Read and interpret the fire alarm board and respond to emergencies and crises quickly and efficiently.

You are expected to greet all visitors to the facility in a professional and pleasant manner. You will be required to take messages when appropriate and conduct all interactions, either by telephone or in person, in a professional manner. Familiarity with a hospital telephone system and ability to work with varied populations in a professional manner is required. You must be able to respond to emergency and crisis situations quickly and efficiently and be able to read and interpret the fire alarm board.
