Job summary

Rehab Hospital of Northwest Ohio in Toledo is seeking a PRN Receptionist to welcome patients, families, and visitors and to support admissions, telecommunications, and insurance verification in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will handle calls, coordinate with clinical staff, maintain confidentiality, and ensure accurate registration and billing while upholding HIPAA and hospital guiding principles.

Qualifications

  • One year of reception experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Insurance verification experience preferred.
  • Prior authorization experience preferred.
  • OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, visitors, and vendors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer calls and direct callers appropriately.
  • Provide telecommunications services using phones, paging systems, radios, and other tools.
  • Facilitate patient flow from referral through admission in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Verify demographic and financial information for patient registration and billing.
  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility as needed.
  • Assist with obtaining and tracking prior authorizations when applicable.
  • Enter charges into appropriate systems.
  • Maintain records related to hospital telecommunications and on-call schedules.

Position Summary

The PRN Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, families, visitors, referral sources, and hospital staff. This position plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment while supporting the admissions process, telecommunications, insurance verification, and other administrative functions to ensure excellent patient service.

Qualifications
Required Skills

Responsibilities
