Our Office Specialists are a key player in providing clerical support to caseworkers and supervisors at the Child Welfare agency.
We are looking for a Receptionist (Office Specialist 2) | Bilingual English/Spanish required! to join our dedicated Child Welfare Team in Beaverton.
This position is bilingual and requires duties to be carried out in both English and Spanish.
The job offer will be contingent upon passing test(s) evaluating your proficiency in the bilingual requirements of the position.
This position may receive a 5% differential pay based on passing the required language test.

Summary of Duties
As an employee working within the Child Welfare Program, you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon’s most vulnerable children and families. As a Receptionist, you will provide:
Administrative and Records Support:
Maintain the lobby, answer phones, answer inquiries and explain rules and policies.
Distribute and issue parking permits (employees), issue cash vouchers, bus passes, fishing, parent milage and logs transactions (TRACS, OR-Kids)
Case Management, Contract and Coordinator Support:
Assist protective service staff with data entry into OR-Kids.
Request records which may include, but is not limited to, police reports, out of state histories, court records, physical or mental health records.
Coordinate the scheduling and rescheduling of all visits for the branch office.
Information Assistance:
Research parent information, calls, mails letters and documents
Minimum Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish (the job offer will be contingent upon passing test(s) evaluating your proficiency in the bilingual requirements of the position).
Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
An associate degree in any field;OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience using computers to process, enter, and verify detailed data with accuracy and efficiency.
Experience working with diverse populations, demonstrating cultural awareness, empathy, and adaptability in various interactions.

Working Conditions
Work Locations: Offices and community sites.
Travel: Occasional travel for meetings, trainings, and other case related activities. This includes required occasional overnight travel.
Hours: Regular work week with fluctuating hours; occasional overtime may be needed, including evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements: Frequent physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting children with car seats.
This role involves handling sensitive topics related to trauma, abuse, and crises, requiring a trauma-informed approach that is essential to ensure a safe environment.
You may interact with individuals who have experienced trauma and may have difficulty managing their emotions.
Be prepared for stressful situations that require quick decision-making to ensure safety for yourself and others.

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire, you will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Security’s I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States. Finalists must be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) through a fingerprint-based criminal records check.
A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
