The HR Receptionist plays a crucial role in demonstrating adherence to organizational norms and is a support and helpmeet to all staff as needed. The Receptionist & Human Resources Receptionist serves as the primary face and voice of The Arc of Union County, acting as the first point of contact for visitors, families, and stakeholders. This multi-faceted role combines high-level customer service and switchboard operations with vital administrative support for the Human Resources department. By assisting the HR Associate Executive Director, Chief of Staff, Generalist, Leave of Absence (LOA) Administrator, and Assistant Director of HR with critical workflows—including healthcare fairs, exit survey distributions, agency engagement initiatives, and compliance-driven driver screenings, the Receptionist & Human Resources Assistant directly strengthens the agency's operational efficiency, recruitment velocity, and employee retention goals. This professional must possess a highly specialized, multi-faceted skill set that balances administrative rigor with deep empathy, administrative adaptability, and strict adherence to stringent state regulations. At the core of this role is exceptional, culturally sensitive communication. The HR Receptionist is privileged to interact daily with a diverse ecosystem of individuals, including direct support professionals (DSPs), program managers, state auditors, family members, and job applicants with varying abilities. This requires high emotional intelligence and the ability to deploy active listening and crisis-de-escalation techniques.
