Responsibilities

  • Check in patients in a friendly and timely manner and confirm appointment times.
  • Collect copays and post to patient accounts.

  • Assist patients with directions, wheelchair accessibility and other needs.
  • Verify insurance and demographic information and explain differences between contracted vs non-contracted plans.
  • Promote use of the patient portal and maintain patient confidentiality.

Receptionist - Float (Physical Therapy Receptionist)

Regular Full-Time Washington - Salmon Creek, Vancouver, WA, US

Salary Range: $20.72 To $29.01 Hourly

Rebound is looking to fill a full-time Receptionist for our fast-paced Physical Therapy department. The location of this position will float to ensure coverage at all of our Vancouver area Physical Therapy locations. The PT Receptionist is responsible for checking in patients, collecting copays and posting to patient accounts, informing patients of potential delays, and communicating financial policy to patients. Reception positions require cross-training and rotation as department needs arise and change. Must have department awareness at all times to facilitate patient flow.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports an environment that reinforces Rebound’s mission and Core Values of Superior Service, Teamwork, Integrity, Innovation, Quality and Recognition.
  • Be alert and helpful to ensure patients find the appropriate office, exit, etc. and offer directions when needed. Assist patients (ie-getting the door, wheelchairs, etc) as needed.
  • Check in patients in a friendly and timely manner. Communicate potential appointment delays.
  • Facilitate information collection as needed through verbal confirmation or use of forms.
  • Confirm insurance and demographic information.
  • Explain financial policies, privacy practices and the differences with contracted vs. non- contracted insurance companies.
  • Promote use of the patient portal.
  • Responsible for collecting copays, past due balances, and necessary deposits at time of service.
  • Attends meetings and performs related work as required.
  • Maintains a clean lobby environment.
  • Alert supervisor and/or administration if suspicious persons are on the premise. Contact security as appropriate.
  • If any office location is underutilized or closed, staff from the closed office may be required to travel to another office to cover.
  • Project work as needed to fill downtime.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work may require sitting for long periods of time
  • Stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies.
  • Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operate a calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment as necessary.
  • Verbal communication with patients, making and canceling appointments and communicating with office staff.
  • It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods.
  • May be required to work under pressure.
  • Works in close proximity to office personnel within limited work space.
  • Interaction with others and phones can cause frequent disruptions.
  • Occasional exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Monday - Friday, no weekends or holidays.

Schedule will fluctuate between 6:30am - 5pm in 8-hour shifts.

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position.
