Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a medical receptionist to manage front-desk duties, answer calls, greet visitors, and schedule patient appointments. You will handle EMR check-in in Epic, collect HIPAA forms, and communicate self-pay obligations to patients while protecting privacy in line with policy.

The role requires basic medical terminology knowledge, keyboard skills, and strong interpersonal/written communication abilities to support a busy clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior medical reception experience preferred.
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Epic and related medical software is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of keyboard skills and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel.
• W welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules patient appointments.
• Responsible for EMR registration check-in processes in Epic.
• Collects signed HIPAA and Consent for Treatment documents.
• Provides patient with an estimated self-pay obligation when appropriate.
• Performs cashiering functions online payment posting within Epic.
• Safeguards patient privacy and confidentiality per policies.
• Preps routes daily for upcoming appointments for frontline registration.

• Preps Routes daily for upcoming appointments for frontline registration

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous medical reception or reception experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of keyboard skills and medical terminology preferred
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills
• Basic knowledge of Epic preferred
• May be required to work flexible hours and overtime during peak hours.
