Position Summary

The Receptionist is responsible for delivering a welcoming and professional front-of-house experience for employees, candidates, customers, partners, and visitors. This role serves as the first point of contact for the company, ensuring the reception area operates smoothly while providing administrative and operational support across the business.

The ideal candidate is customer-service focused, proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoys creating a positive workplace experience. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, are comfortable juggling multiple priorities, and take pride in delivering exceptional hospitality.

What You'll Own
Front Desk & Visitor Experience
  • Welcome employees, candidates, customers, vendors, and visitors with a warm, professional, and friendly demeanor.
  • Manage the front desk and reception area to ensure it remains clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Coordinate visitor check-in procedures and maintain visitor logs.
  • Notify employees of arriving guests and ensure visitors are escorted when appropriate.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls and general company inquiries.
Office Administration
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages.
  • Coordinate outgoing shipments and courier services.
  • Order and maintain office, kitchen, and workplace supplies.
  • Assist with document preparation, filing, scanning, and general administrative tasks.
  • Maintain conference rooms and shared office spaces to ensure they are meeting‑ready.
Employee & Candidate Experience
  • Support onboarding by preparing workspaces, welcome materials, badges, and office access.
  • Support the fulfillment and distribution of new hire welcome packages.
  • Welcome candidates for interviews and ensure they have an exceptional experience.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and coordinating office logistics.
  • Support company events, celebrations, lunches, and employee engagement activities.
Workplace Operations
  • Monitor office inventory and replenish supplies proactively.
  • Coordinate with vendors for deliveries, maintenance, cleaning, and office services.
  • Report facility issues and assist with coordinating repairs.Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized workplace environment.
Administrative Support
  • Provide administrative assistance to the People, Operations, and Leadership teams as needed.
  • Support travel bookings, meeting coordination, and calendar logistics when required.
  • Maintain accurate office records and documentation.
  • Assist with special projects and other operational initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in reception, office administration, hospitality, customer service, or a similar role.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work onsite full‑time in Austin, TX.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup or technology company.
  • Experience coordinating office operations or workplace services.
  • Familiarity with visitor management or office management software.
  • Experience supporting recruiting or interview coordination.
  • Experience planning employee events or office activities.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Compensation

Base Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 DOE
