Job summary

Southland Industries’ Project Engineer role focuses on multi-million dollar commercial MEP projects, developing skills in estimating, scheduling and design within the design-build process. You will assist on change orders, procurement, and subcontractor selection while staying current on industry trends.

Qualifications

• ERP skills for analyzing project costs and reports.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing drawings.
• Basic verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic computer skills including CADD and Microsoft Office products such as Excel.
• Four-year degree in Engineering, or applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Estimate the impact of project changes and inform management.
• Manage change orders with accurate tracking.
• Procure equipment, materials, and services; assist in subcontractor selection and hiring.
• Stay current on emerging industry trends.
• Analyze and resolve basic questions and problems as needed.

• Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management.
• Manages change orders. Ensure they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.

• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed.

• Basic ERP skills to include inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing drawings
• Basic verbal and written communications skills
• Basic computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel
• Four-year degree in Engineering, or applicable experience.
