Job summary

Versatex is seeking a forklift operator at the Prairie Plant in Wilmington, OH. Hours are Monday–Friday, 1:45 PM to 10:00 PM. Eligible for a $3,000 bonus, with $1,500 at 3 months and $1,500 at 6 months.

The role involves unloading inbound shipments with a forklift, maintaining shipment paperwork, verifying accuracy against packing lists, and upholding 6S in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Requires 5+ years of MHE experience and forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of experience operating material handling equipment.
• Forklift certification – current or in prior work.
• Strong decision making, analytical skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Self-directed, motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Computer skills for basic ERP input on receiving/shipping processes.
• Work schedule flexibility with advance notice.

Responsibilities

• Operates forklift to unload inbound shipments of finished goods.
• Maintains paperwork for all loads.
• Verifies inbound shipments match packing lists and are damage-free.
• Keeps warehouse and loading areas clean and orderly (6S).
• Participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follows safety and equipment handling procedures for a safe workspace.
• Pulls rail kit components for offsite supplier shipments.
• Loads trucks for outbound shipments of components.
• Receives/unloads trucks of inbound rail kits from supplier.
• Assists in maintaining accurate inventory of incoming rail kits.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by supervision/management.

This position is at our Prairie Plant in Wilmington. The hours for this position are Monday to Friday, 1:45 PM to 10:00 PM.

This position is eligible for a $3,000 Bonus!

Core Responsibilities:

• Operates forklift to safely unload inbound shipments of finished goods
• Maintains paperwork for all loads
• Verifies that inbound shipments are damage-free and match packing list exactly
• Maintains clean and orderly conditions in warehouse and loading areas using workplace organization methods (i.e. 6S)
• Participates in continuous improvement initiatives
• Follow all safety and equipment handling procedures to ensure a safe working environment
• Pull all rail kitting components to be shipped to offsite supplier
• Load trucks for outbound shipments of components
• Receive and unload the trucks of incoming rail kits from supplier
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory of incoming rail kits
• Performs additional duties/tasks as assigned by supervision/management

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• A minimum of 5 years of experience operating material handling equipment
• Forklift Certification – either current or in prior work experience
• Strong decision making, analytical skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally
• Strong attention to detail, reading, comprehension and good communication skills
• Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment
• Computer skills preferred, to include; basic input of information into ERP system on receiving and shipping process
• Work schedule flexibility, with advance notice, to accommodate needs of the business

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
