Job summary

Torrco is seeking a Receiving Manager in Waterbury, CT to lead inbound receiving in the distribution center. The role drives accuracy, efficiency, and safety while guiding the receiving team and coordinating with Purchasing and Inventory Control to resolve issues.

Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, training staff, and improving processes. Strong leadership, communication, and ERP experience are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree is a plus.
• 3–5 years of warehouse receiving or distribution experience.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and oversee daily receiving operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Supervise and develop the receiving team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure unloading, inspection, system receipt, labeling, and put-away of inbound inventory.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues with Purchasing/Inventory Control.
• Ensure all receiving transactions are entered in Eclipse and documented properly.
• Continuously improve receiving processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Track KPIs like accuracy, dock-to-stock time, and backlog; take corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean receiving area in line with OSHA and company policies.
• Conduct safety observations and train employees on equipment and procedures.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Inventory Control, Warehouse Ops, Delivery, and Branch Ops to optimize product flow.
• Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and performance management with HR.
• Support inventory audits, cycle counts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
