Job summary

Ferguson is seeking a Receiving Manager to join the North Charleston, SC shipping hub. The role oversees a team of hourly associates on a 1st shift starting at 8am, with coverage for other shifts as needed.

You will report to the Senior Warehouse Manager, supervise 4-5 direct reports in a 112,000 sq. ft. facility, and lead continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring safety and accuracy in receiving operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in a Warehouse Management or Warehouse Supervisor role.
• Experience with Receiving/Inbound and inventory is strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate unloading and stocking of inbound shipments with accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure warehouse space is used optimally and kept clean and orderly.
• Provide mentorship and direction to team members in receiving procedures.
• Communicate with receiving clerks, HQ, and drivers regarding inbound deliveries and schedules.
• Research and resolve issues involving purchase orders and receiving documents.
• Ensure receiving documentation, freight claims, and HQ correspondence are completed promptly.
• Promote safe work practices and resolve safety concerns.
• Establish and communicate performance standards to associates.
• Lead team in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct counseling, mentoring, and performance appraisals as needed.
• Provide recommendations for selecting new associates to join the team.
