Job summary
Mitchell Companies is seeking an experienced Receiving Manager in Nottingham, MD to lead warehouse receiving operations. The role oversees the receiving team, ensures accurate unloading, inspection, verification, and processing of shipments, and collaborates with vendors, carriers, and purchasing.
The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, 3–5 years in warehouse/receiving roles, and experience with a WMS.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of warehouse or receiving experience.
- Supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Experience using a WMS or inventory management system required.
- Forklift certification required or ability to obtain promptly.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of Warehouse Receivers and receiving associates.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and workload based on shipments.
- Ensure shipments are unloaded and verified against PO, packing slips, and BOL.
- Oversee inspection of products for damage, defects, shortages, and overages.
- Train and coach receiving staff to ensure accurate counting, labeling, and processing.
- Monitor accuracy and timeliness of inventory and WMS data entry.
