Job summary

Assurant is seeking a shift supervisor to support the Irving, TX team. This role partners with Supervisors to train and develop staff, monitor production performance, and uphold quality controls in accordance with work instructions.

You will reallocate resources and collaborate across departments to sustain workflow and meet customer goals. The position requires hands-on leadership, forklift certification if needed, and strong communication across levels.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year(s) of lead or supervisory experience in manufacturing or warehouse setting.
• Forklift certification if required for area responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Supervisors to monitor production performance and ensure quality controls.
• Assist in training and coaching team members; lead OJT and workstation assessments.
• Coordinate with other departments to optimize workflow and resource allocation.
• Attend daily stand-up meetings and participate in internal/external meetings as needed.
• Maintain attendance roster for Emergency Evacuations and support 6S audits.
• Monitor KPI/SLA performance and escalate issues to the supervisor when necessary.

Job description

This job is responsible for working with the Supervisors and assisting in training and developing the team, monitoring production performance, ensuring production and quality controls are met while adhering to the work instructions for the area of responsibility.

This role is based at our Irving, TX location with a schedule of Monday-Thursday from 5:30 pm to 4:00 am

What will my duties and responsibilities be in this job?

• Working knowledge of shop floor systems (CVision, Oracle, Unit Tracker, Great Plains, Ghost)


• Participate in daily stand-up meetings with Supervisor


• Participate in internal and external customer or vendor meetings


• Work with Supervisor to reallocate resources (people/supplies/products etc.) as needed to meet customer goals


• Work with other departments as needed to ensure proper workflow is achieved


• Point of contact for employees for handling escalation issues


• Work with Engineering to identify and resolve process issues


• Ability to collaborate with other departments with their area of responsibility


• Track and maintain daily attendance roster for Emergency Evacuation purposes


• Participate with the 6S Audit team on monthly 6S audits


• Work with supervisor to implement any changes or adjustments on production floor as a result from the audits


• Forklift certified if needed for area of responsibility


• Perform on-the-job (OJT) refresher training and workstation assessment


• Monitor inventory levels (WIP Aging) for specific area of responsibility


• Monitor KPI and SLA performance levels and elevate any issues/concerns to supervisor when needed


• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees


• Must be proficient and certified in the area that they are responsible for leading


• Compile and analyze data


• Complete daily reports


• Train and coach associates as needed

What are the requirements needed for this position?

• High School Diploma or GED


• 1+ years of lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

• Prior leadership experience in manufacturing, logistics, operations, or another applicable environment is preferred


• Ability to collaborate with other departments within their area of responsibility


• Training environment experience


• Forklift certified if needed for area of responsibility


• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees


• Must be proficient and certified in the area that they are responsible for leading

Pay Range

$17.34 - $27.75
