Ashley Furniture is seeking a Lift Operator to safely move furniture within our distribution center in Brandon, FL. You will operate lift trucks, load and unload goods, and help organize inventory in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Ideal candidates are 18+, legally eligible to work in the US, able to lift 75 lbs regularly, and to handle loads up to 250 lbs with or without accommodations. Weekend and holiday shifts may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks of powered industrial vehicles before operation.
• Operate lift trucks and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Use scanning equipment to locate products and ensure accurate inventory.
• Pick orders and stage for shipment following scan-move-scan procedures.
• Follow SOPs and OSHA safety rules while performing duties.
• Inform supervisor of backorders, scanning issues, or out-of-sequence products.
• Inform supervisor of damaged or misplaced items.
• Conduct trailer audits before loading and report deficiencies.
• Demonstrate Ashley Furniture Core and Growth Values in all duties.

Purpose at Ashley

The Lift Operator role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating material handling equipment, specifically lift trucks and forklifts, to move furniture and case good products within the warehouse premises. This role involves loading and unloading furniture items from trucks, transporting them to designated storage areas, and assisting with the organization of inventory.

What You’ll Do

• Perform safety check of powered industrial vehicle prior to operation
• Operate powered industrial vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner
• Use scanning equipment to locate product in Distribution Center and ensure accurate inventory
• Pick orders and stage for shipment following the scan move scan
• Manipulate products safely and effectively using the Standard Operational Procedure for proper lifting.
• Inform supervisor of needed backorders of product, scanning problems or product out of sequence
• Inform supervisor of damaged and misplaced products
• Perform a trailer audit (verify trailer number, cleanliness, condition) prior to loading and inform supervisor of any deficiencies.
• Perform the job satisfactorily at a sustained level of productivity
• Follow all OSHA and Company established safety rules and procedures
• Follow all standard operating procedures while working at assigned positions
• Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
