Job summary

Ashley Furniture is expanding its distribution capabilities and seeks a Lift Operator to move furniture items within the warehouse, load/unload trucks, and organize inventory. You will operate forklifts, follow safety procedures, and assist with accurate inventory control.

Candidates must be able to lift heavy items and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Benefits and comprehensive programs are provided by Ashley Furniture.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the US.
• Age 18 or older.
• Regularly lift objects over 75 lbs.
• Ability to transport loads of 250 lbs.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety check of powered industrial vehicle prior to operation.
• Operate powered industrial vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Use scanning equipment to locate product in Distribution Center and ensure accurate inventory.
• Pick orders and stage for shipment following the scan move scan.
• Manipulate products safely and effectively using the Standard Operating Procedure for proper lifting.
• Inform supervisor of backorders, scanning problems or product out of sequence.
• Inform supervisor of damaged and misplaced products.
• Perform a trailer audit prior to loading and inform supervisor of deficiencies.
• Maintain productivity at a sustained level and follow safety rules.
• Follow all OSHA and Company safety rules and procedures.
• Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in all job functions.

Purpose at Ashley:

The Lift Operator role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating material handling equipment, specifically lift trucks and forklifts, to move furniture and case good products within the warehouse premises. This role involves loading and unloading furniture items from trucks, transporting them to designated storage areas, and assisting with the organization of inventory.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform safety check of powered industrial vehicle prior to operation
• Operate powered industrial vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner
• Use scanning equipment to locate product in Distribution Center and ensure accurate inventory
• Pick orders and stage for shipment following the scan move scan
• Manipulate products safely and effectively using the Standard Operational Procedure for proper lifting.
• Inform supervisor of needed backorders of product, scanning problems or product out of sequence
• Inform supervisor of damaged and misplaced products
• Perform a trailer audit (verify trailer number, cleanliness, condition) prior to loading and inform supervisor of any deficiencies.
• Perform the job satisfactorily at a sustained level of productivity
• Follow all OSHA and Company established safety rules and procedures
• Follow all standard operating procedures while working at assigned positions
