Job summary

NEFCO in Columbus, OH is seeking a receiving associate responsible for all functions and paperwork related to receiving material into the distribution facility. This role supports stocking, verification against packing slips, and proper placement of goods.

The position requires forklift use, attention to safety, and ability to work independently with strong communication. OT may be available based on needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Ability to use NEFCO’s ERP software system.
• Ability to use warehouse layouts for planning purposes.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, or Outlook a plus.
• Basic computer skills.
• Positive, hard-working attitude.
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently and with little supervision.
• Ability to multitask.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to stand on concrete floor for long periods.
• Able to work in varying climate conditions (cold, heat, humidity).
• Able to crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl and twist for lifting.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
• Able to review and interpret computer images and documents.
• Non-exempt position, eligible for overtime.

Responsibilities

• Maximize sales potential through proper receiving procedures for all products entering the warehouse.
• Verify received products against packing slips.
• Confirm product integrity and proper placement in locations.
• Operate forklift safely and efficiently.
• Put away stock and route materials to locations using forklift, cherry picker, or sorting bins.
• Maintain cleanliness of receiving area, docks and trash areas.
• Communicate with management and branch personnel.
