Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Receiving Inspector II to perform dimensional and visual inspections of purchased parts and materials as they are received from vendors.

You will work from drawings and specifications, use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and an optical comparator, and document findings to determine acceptance or rejection. The role requires 2–4 years in mechanical inspection, proficiency with GD&T and ISO/AS9100 knowledge, and willingness to travel up to 100 miles to supplier

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Vocational school or Technical training is preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Minimum 2 – 4 years of mechanical inspection experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the requirements, maintenance, and implementation of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 guidelines required
  • Experienced using tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges and optical comparator
  • This position requires traveling to the supplier sites within 100 miles
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean DMV record

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Works from drawings, sketches and specifications.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
  • Demonstrated familiarity with source inspections and/or audits is desired
  • Demonstrates intermediate to advanced drawing interpretation skills
  • Demonstrates understanding of geometrical tolerancing and dimensional measurements
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite needed to document findings and produce inspection reports
  • Is highly motivated, committed to high quality standards, and be able to function with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates competency in reading, comprehending, and ensuring compliance to internal standards, drawings, and customer requirements
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
  • Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectivesTakes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products

Physical Demands

Salary

The salary range for this role is: $20 - $30
