Job summary

AV is seeking a Receiving Inspector II to perform inspection of purchased parts, materials, components and equipment as they arrive from vendors. You will use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators to verify dimensions against drawings.

You will document findings, support ISO 9001/AS9100 compliance, travel to supplier sites within 100 miles, and collaborate with teams to resolve quality issues while maintaining safe operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent is required; vocational training preferred.
  • 2–4 years of mechanical inspection experience.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 guidelines.
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparator.
  • Willingness to travel to supplier sites within 100 miles; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Receiving Inspector II performs inspection of purchased parts, materials, components and equipment as materials are received from vendors or subcontractors.

Position Responsibilities
  • Conducts detailed dimensional and visual inspections on critical parts, assemblies, and raw material, including first piece, in-process, incoming, and final. Inspection involves using tools such as; calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparator, and more
  • Works from drawings, sketches and specifications. Adapts inspection measuring devices and procedures where necessary
  • Documents inspection findings and produces the necessary documentation/reports, establishing acceptance or rejection
  • Determines or assists in determining methods, sequences and procedures necessary for inspection
  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
  • Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
  • Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent is required. Vocational school or Technical training is preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Minimum 2 - 4 years of mechanical inspection experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the requirements, maintenance, and implementation of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 guidelines required
  • Experienced using tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges and optical comparator
  • This position requires traveling to the supplier sites within 100 miles
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean DMV record
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
  • Demonstrated familiarity with source inspections and/or audits is desired
  • Demonstrates intermediate to advanced drawing interpretation skills
  • Demonstrates understanding of geometrical tolerancing and dimensional measurements
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite needed to document findings and produce inspection reports
  • Is highly motivated, committed to high quality standards, and be able to function with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates competency in reading, comprehending, and ensuring compliance to internal standards, drawings, and customer requirements
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
  • Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
  • Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company

The Salary Range For This Role Is

$20 - $30
