Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking a Receiving Inspector in the Salt Lake City area to verify incoming hardware meets specifications, manage documentation, and ensure traceability. You will work with Receiving, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to uphold quality before entering production.

This full-time role requires reading engineering documents, applying tolerances, and maintaining meticulous records.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications, purchase orders, and inspection instructions.
• Ability to read tolerances and apply sampling requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspections of mechanical and electrical hardware and materials.
• Verify conformance to purchase orders, drawings, specs, and BOMs.
• Document inspection results and material status in ERP systems.

AsaReceivingInspector,youwillhelpensureincomingmaterials,components,andassembliesmeetengineeringspecifications,qualitystandards,andcustomerrequirementsbeforeenteringproduction.WorkingcloselywiththeReceivingSupervisor,QualityEngineering,SupplyChain,andmanufacturingteams,youwillperforminspections,verifysupplierdocumentation,maintainmaterialtraceability,andidentifynonconformingproducts.Yourworkwillhelppreventqualityissuesfromenteringthemanufacturingprocessandsupportreliableproductionoperations.

Responsibilities

Performsreceivinginspectionsofincomingmechanicalandelectricalhardware,rawmaterials,fabricatedparts,printedwiringitems,components,andassembliesinaccordancewithapprovedproceduresandinspectionplans.

Verifiesincomingproductsagainstpurchaseorders,engineeringdrawings,specifications,billsofmaterial,qualityclauses,andsupplierdocumentationtoconfirmidentification,configuration,revision,quantity,andcompleteness.

ReviewsCertificatesofConformance,materialandspecial-processcertifications,testreports,inspectionrecords,serialization,lotidentification,andshelf-lifedocumentationforaccuracy,completeness,andtraceability.

Performsvisual,dimensional,andbasicfunctionalinspectionsusingapprovedsamplingmethodsandcalibratedequipment,includingcalipers,micrometers,heightgauges,pinandthreadgauges,andotherinspectioninstruments.

Interpretsengineeringdrawings,technicaldiagrams,specifications,andapplicableacceptancecriteriatoevaluateproductconformity,includingworkmanship,packaging,preservation,corrosion,contamination,andhandlingdamage.

Documentsinspectionresults,discrepancies,acceptancedecisions,andmaterialstatusinEnterpriseResourcePlanning(ERP)andelectronicqualitysystemswithinassignedinspectionauthority.

Identifies,documents,segregates,andcontrolsnonconformingorsuspectmaterials,coordinatingdispositionwithQualityEngineering,SupplyChain,andotherresponsiblestakeholders.

Maintainsmaterialanddocumentationtraceabilitywhilecoordinatingthetimelytransferofacceptedhardwaretoinventory,production,ordesignatedstoragelocations.

SupportsQualityAssuranceactivities,includingpreparationofProductTechnicalDataPackages(TDPs),assignedin-processinspections,andinspectionortestdocumentation.

Communicatesinspectionstatusandqualityconcernswhilesupportingsupplierperformancemonitoring,audits,corrective-actioninvestigations,andcontinuous-improvementactivities.

Required Qualifications

Highschooldiplomaorequivalent.

Experienceusingbasicmeasuringinstrumentsandinspectiontoolsandinterpretingblueprints,schematics,engineeringdrawings,ortechnicaldiagrams.

Abilitytoreadandinterpretspecifications,purchaseorderrequirements,inspectioninstructions,andapplicableacceptancecriteria.
