Receiving Clerk (Full Time)
Department: All Openings, Supply Chain
Responsible for receiving deliveries of parts, equipment, and materials and ensuring accuracy. Inspect freight for quality, handle materials using various equipment, and deliver to warehouses or work centers. The role involves computer processing within the ERP system, following process specifications, collaborating with Receiving Inspection, and organizing materials. Also maintain records, report issues, and carry out housekeeping duties. Position requires knowledge of computer and MRP systems along with basic math skills. Typically reports to a supervisor.
Essential Job Functions
- Receive Materials: Receive parts, equipment, and materials, ensuring they match the accompanying documentation, cert and packing slip. Properly document the receipt of items in the inventory system and ensure that all paperwork is accurately completed and filed. Communicate with purchasing, suppliers and relevant departments to resolve any issues related to received materials. Coordinate the proper storage and organization of materials in designated areas.
- Inspect Freight: Inspect the materials for quality and condition upon arrival, noting any discrepancies or damages Report any damaged material to the Lead/Supervisor.
- Computer Processing: Perform required computer processing within the LN system, including data entry, receiving parts and materials, and expediting shortage items.
- Material Handling: Use material-handling equipment such as electric carts, push carts, forklifts, pallet jacks, trucks, skids, and hand tools to transport items as necessary.
- Deliver Kits, Shortages, Mail: Deliver shortages to warehouses or supported work centers.
- Instructions and Specifications: Follow process specifications, QP 13.1 Material Storage and Handling, PPS36001 Marking of Parts, Assemblies, Materials, and all related Quality Procedures, PPS Requirements, in addition to verbal/written instructions.
- Collaborate with Receiving Inspection: Work with Receiving Inspection to ensure a smooth and timely flow of parts through the inspection process.
- Organize Materials: Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence for storage.
- Stockroom Coordination: Work closely with Production Control Facilitator/Coordinator to store parts and materials on shelves and retrieve parts for distribution as required.
- Process Sub-Contract Items: Match sub-contract items with proper paperwork and move them to the next location.
- Maintain Records: Maintain all necessary records, files, and reports.
- Report Issues: Report any unusual circumstances or conditions to the Lead/Supervisor.
- Quality Assurance: Scrutinize every facet of the job and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to the Lead/Supervisor.

- Housekeeping: Perform housekeeping chores as required by the department.

Education and Experience
- Requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of experience preferably in a shipping/receiving environment.
- Knowledge of computer systems and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) systems is preferred to perform the duties of this position.
Physical Demands
- Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform and accomplish tasks. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
Mental Demands
- General understanding of ERP computer system.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel proficiency, is required.
- Requires knowledge and experience in establishing Kanban, JIT or Supplier Managed Inventory programs.
- General understanding of drawings, specification, and units of measure.

- Travel and overtime are required when necessary.
