Job summary

Bauer Compressors is seeking a Receiving Clerk in Norfolk, VA to manage incoming goods, verify receipts and coordinate storage. You will sign bills of lading and process receipts in the ERP system, working under the Inbound Operations Manager.

The role requires at least two years in a warehouse and forklift capability, with a high school diploma. You must be detail-oriented and able to lift up to 50 lbs, maintaining safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Process and deliver customer returns to proper locations.
• Receive shipments per Bauer's procedures and warehouse rules.
• Examine and unpack shipments; record shortages and damages.
• Process goods receipts in ERP (Made2Manage).
• Label all incoming material accurately.
• Expedite and coordinate delivery of RUSH items.
• Coordinate stocking of received items.
• Communicate discrepancies with purchasing and inventory control.
• Maintain Missing Parts List (MPL) on inbound material.
• Assist in inventory issues as Receiving Lead deems necessary.
• Operate a forklift and other equipment to unload and move materials.
• Unload trucks using a forklift.
• Keep work area and equipment clean and safe; follow safety regulations.
• Ensure receiving paperwork (packing slips) are stored properly.
• Secure received material for next routing per process.
• Perform other duties to ensure efficient functioning of the unit.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

• Pay or shift range: $19 USD to $21 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

POSITION SUMMARY The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving items in a timely and accurate manner by signing the bills of lading, verifying receipts, processing receipts in the computer database and coordinating storage of incoming goods. This position reports to the Inbound Operations Manager.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

• Process and deliver customer returns to the proper locations.
• Receive shipments from the vendor or shipper in accordance with Bauer's quality procedures and in accordance with warehouse procedures.
• Examine and unpack incoming shipments, record shortages, and process damaged items accordingly.
• Process goods receipts in ERP (Made2Manage) system.
• Properly label all incoming material.
• Expedite and coordinate delivery of RUSH items.
• Coordinate the stocking of received items.
• Communicate discrepancies with purchasing and inventory control groups.
• Maintain Missing Parts List (MPL) on inbound material.
• Assisting in inventory issues as Receiving Lead deems necessary.
• Operate a forklift and other equipment to unload materials, move materials, and deliver materials throughout the plant.
• Unload trucks using a forklift.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow safety regulations.
• Ensure relevant receiving paperwork (i.e., packing slips) are stored accordingly.
• Ensures received material is secure and ready for next routing in accordance with established processes
• Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
• Regular and reliable attendance.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a warehouse environment which includes receiving and purchasing experience.
• Ability of operate a forklift or the ability to successfully complete forklift certification for operation within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs safely
• Computer experience with MS Office (Excel and Outlook) with an ability to learn and utilize the ERP system proficiently.
• Must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize demands.
• Must possess a sense of urgency and drive to deliver results on an individual and team level.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.

VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience with Made2Manage (M2M) a plus.

Normal working schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday with some overtime required at times.
