Job summary

Porter Pipe & Supply in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Receiving Associate to join the Receiving Team. The role focuses on unloading trucks, accurately receiving materials, and verifying shipments against purchase orders while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will weigh, count, and sort inventory, use RF scanning equipment, and process work orders and related documents. A strong focus on organization, accuracy, and teamwork is expected in this fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of warehouse Receiving experience.
  • Prior forklift experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with a sharp eye for detail.
  • Solid mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks.
  • Comfortable communicating in English regarding job duties and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Work 1st shift hours (starting at 6am).
  • Unload trucks and accurately receive materials, verifying shipments against purchase orders.
  • Interpret and process work orders, shipping documents, and requisitions.
  • Move and sort inventory based on size, type, and other identifiers.
  • Mark and track inventory using RF scanning equipment.
  • Weigh and count materials to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines.
  • Support your team with additional warehouse duties as needed.

Our Receiving Associate is required to have experience with warehouse operations, including receiving, sorting, and distributing materials accurately and safely.

What You’ll Bring
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of warehouse Receiving experience
