Job summary

Professional Contractor Supply is seeking a highly organized Receiving Associate to join our team in Hayward, CA. You will assist in unloading deliveries and compare received products to packing lists and purchase orders to ensure accuracy.

Responsibilities include labeling deliveries, coordinating with Purchasing and Sales, and maintaining clean, safe receiving areas while following safety policies. This role requires attention to detail and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Dependable with ability to follow a series of work instructions.
  • Proficient with computer skills.
  • Strong math and recording abilities.
  • Ability to work Saturdays for inventory.
  • Certified to operate forklift, reach, and order picker.
  • OSHA 10 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Unload deliveries and verify against packing lists and POs.
  • Inspect contents for damages and accuracy.
  • Label deliveries and assign to stock locations.
  • Communicate with Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Sales about issues.
  • Maintain receiving areas and follow safety policies.
  • Assist warehouse manager and keep equipment safe and organized.
  • Assist in loading/unloading on delivery trucks.
  • Attend department meetings and trainings.
  • Protect confidentiality of company information.

Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Receiving Associate to join our team! The Receiving Associate assists in unloading delivery trucks and compares received products to packing lists and purchase orders to ensure that deliveries are complete and accurate. Essential Function/Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records and assists with inventory control.
  • Accurately receives all products.
  • Handle all necessary paperwork upon shipment receipt.
  • Inspect all the contents for damages and volume.
  • Manage and return incorrect shipments.
  • Communicate with the Purchasing department and Accounts Payable when a mistake is identified.
  • Communicate with the Sales team regarding key customers, receipt of next day items, damaged orders, or other related issues.
  • Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place.
  • Assist warehouse manager/supervisor personnel in performing tasks; sort and place merchandise in proper stock areas.
  • Maintain the receiving areas in neat and orderly conditions; make sure that all equipment is kept in safe and efficient locations.
  • Assist in loading and unloading merchandise on delivery trucks.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures in reporting accidents in accordance with company policy.
  • Keep managers/supervisors informed of shortages, overages, damaged merchandise, and inventory control.
  • Assume responsibility for the workplace safety of self and co-workers, and for the safety conditions of the work locations. Exercise and promote safe behaviors and demonstrate unyielding support of programs, rules, and policies regarding safety.
  • Operate machinery and equipment while adhering to safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protections, steel-toed boots, safety hat, high visibility safety apparel, and glove-Cut level 3 (A3).
  • Always remain courteous and service-minded while dealing with other employees and customers.
  • Maintain a neat appearance in accordance to company dress code policy.
  • Maintain punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other team members.
  • Protect and maintain confidentiality of company trade secrets and other confidential or proprietary information including, without limitation, operations methods, customer information, and sales fata.
  • Complete projects and assignments on time.
  • Attend department meetings and trainings as requested.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned by supervisor and/or department management.
Qualifications
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50lbs in order to load packages.
  • Must be a dependable worker with the ability to carry out a series of work instructions without constant supervision.
  • Must be proficient with computer skills.
  • Math and recording abilities.
  • Be dependable and report to work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to create a positive and productive working relationship with employees and customers.
  • Work independently using effective problem-solving skills.
  • Required to work some Saturdays for inventory.
  • Must be certified to operate all materials handling equipment; forklift, reach, and order picker.
  • Superior organizational and multitasking ability.
  • Commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills with professionalism with respect to time management and meeting deadlines.
  • Able to manage multiple, complex, on-going tasks and projects.
  • Must obtain an OSHA 10.
