Job description

Server Tech Solutions Inc. — Sanford, FL 32771

Levels I–III | Full-time | On-site | $18.00 – $24.00 per hour (DOE)

-About the Work-

Server Tech Solutions buys, tests, grades, and resells enterprise technology hardware.

Our core business is enterprise storage — hard drives and solid state drives moving in volume across

every capacity, interface, and form factor: SAS, SATA, and NVMe; 2.5"; and 3.5"; Seagate, Western Digital, HGST, Samsung, Micron, and Intel. From there we handle complete servers (Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Supermicro, Cisco UCS), memory, GPUs, CPUs, RAID controllers, network cards, power supplies, caddies, and rail kits.

Every unit that comes through our door is serialized, tested, graded, and priced based on what it actually is — not what the packing slip claims it is. A drive's serial, model, capacity, and health data determine what it's worth. One transposed digit and the wrong drive ships to a customer.

You are the first checkpoint in that chain — and you run the test bench that turns raw inbound into graded, sellable inventory.

You do not need to know this hardware on day one. We will teach you the part numbers, the reference

material, the grading standards, and the systems. What we cannot teach is the instinct to check the

number twice, the discipline to follow the process the same way on hour seven as on hour one, and the honesty to raise a discrepancy instead of hoping it sorts itself out downstream.

If you have hardware experience, it';s a real advantage and it will move you up faster. If you don't, and you're the kind of person who cannot leave a mismatched count alone, we want to talk to you.

-What You'll Do-
Receiving & Verification
  • Break down inbound pallets, freight, and vendor lots; verify contents against PO, packing list, and manifest.
  • Learn to identify drives, servers, components, and modules by manufacturer part number, model, and spec — capacity, interface, form factor, and configuration. We train you on the conventions and reference material.
  • Cross-reference manufacturer part numbers against our SKU records to confirm what actually arrived.
  • Capture serial numbers, service tags, and asset tags at 1:1 accuracy — high-volume drive lots demand this without exception.
  • Flag damage, missing accessories (caddies, rails, bezels), and anything that doesn't match what was ordered — before it becomes someone else's problem.
Drive Testing Operations
  • Load drives into test servers and testing appliances — populating bays, seating drives correctly, and working cleanly around live equipment.
  • Start test runs and track which drives are in which slot, on which machine, at what stage.
  • Keep test capacity full. Idle bays are lost throughput, and the bench should never sit empty while inbound is stacked up.
  • Monitor running tests; flag failures, stalls, and machines that need attention from HW Engineering.
  • Pull completed drives and sort by outcome — pass/fail, grade, capacity, model, and interface.
  • Match every test result back to the correct serial record. The drive and its data have to stay together, every time.
  • Route failed drives to scrap, data destruction, or vendor claim as directed.
  • Handle drives and components per our ESD and handling standards (we train this).
Inventory Control & Data Integrity
  • Update inventory states as units move through testing and grading (A / B / C).
  • Reconcile post-test yields against inbound manifests; document shortfalls, DOAs, and downgrades.
  • Build and maintain accurate records in Finale Inventory.
  • Apply labels, serialization, and bin/location assignments correctly the first time.
  • Work directly with HW Engineering & Testing to prioritize inbound and keep the bench fed.
  • Escalate shortages, overages, mis-grades, and vendor discrepancies to Purchasing — with documentation strong enough to support a claim.
  • Support RMAs, warranty returns, and vendor returns.
  • Assist with kitting and configuration staging as volume requires.
-What We're Looking For-
Required
  • Genuine attention to detail – a track record in work where a wrong number had real consequences.
  • Ability to follow relational inventory logic: serials link to POs, POs link to SKUs, SKUs change based on grade.
  • Discipline to follow a documented process consistently, including under volume pressure.
  • Comfort with spreadsheets and inventory or order-management systems.
  • Willingness to learn technical hardware terminology, part numbers, and grading standards — and curiosity about how the equipment works.
  • Steady hands and steady focus for repetitive, hands-on work — the hundredth drive of the day gets the same care as the first.
  • Organized, dependable, able to manage shifting priorities.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet in a warehouse environment.
Nice to Have's
  • Any hands-on computer hardware exposure — IT support, PC building, phone or laptop repair, even hobbyist.
  • Experience with serialized or high-value inventory in any industry (electronics, medical devices, ITAD, e-waste, IT refurbishment, data center decommissioning, or hardware resale background).
  • Finale Inventory, NetSuite, or comparable WMS/ERP experience.
  • Familiarity with QA, testing, or grading workflows.
-Why This Role Matters-

Everything downstream depends on what happens at intake. A wrong serial, a misread part number, or a bad grade doesn't stay small — it surfaces later as a customer return, a margin loss, or a vendor claim we can't win.

Receiving is the cheapest place in this business to be accurate, and the most expensive place to be

wrong.
