Job summary

RTX in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Receiver Exciter and Processing Architecture Department. Design, architect, and implement signal processing algorithms on CPUs, FPGAs, and GPUs for next‑gen radar systems.

This is your opportunity to join the Receiver Exciter and Processing Architecture Department as a Software Engineer. The team’s primary goal is to design, architect, and implement signal processing algorithms on a variety of high-performance processing platforms – including CPUs, FPGAs and GPUs, on COTS and semi‑custom hardware platforms, for next generation radar systems.

What You Will Do:

• Perform system integration activities on distributed heterogenous signal processing systems running Linux.
• Code, test, and integrate C++ embedded and/or real‑time signal processing algorithms or control functions.
• Defect resolution and code maintenance/updating of existing codebases.
• Analyze numerical accuracy, runtime latency, and other system metrics
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, and other software engineers to understand and implement end‑user requirements.
• Maintain high code quality by supporting code reviews, static analysis, continuous integration.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major.
• Must have a Minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship session
• Experience using Linux
• C++ software development experience
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with developer tools (Git, CMake, GoogleTest, gdb, profilers, Jira, Jenkins, UML).
• Embedded software development experience.
• Object‑Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD)
• Experience with scripting (Python, shell, bash).

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
